I’ve had this coffee maker for a month now and am totally disappointed with it. Do not buy this coffee maker if you think it will save you any time. The setup and cleaning process is way more time consuming than my last coffee maker where I ground the beans manually. The fine coffee particles jam the passage way between the grinder and filter and it is not easy to clean out. This must be done weekly. Another annoying problem is that if it gets unplugged the clock and timer gets reset. Something I usually don’t notice until the morning when there is no coffee (same with the jam). The grinder is really loud and doubles as my wake up alarm in the morning. It looks cool which is why my wife bought it but I’m stuck figuring out why I don’t have coffee in the morning.

Pros: Makes good coffee, easy to use, easy to clean, does everything include filter the water, can select different brew strengths.

Cons: Makes one small beep when the coffee is ready and then sits there silently getting cold.

Seriously. What this means is that 99.9% of the time I’m drinking cold coffee. Before I was making coffee using a french press, which meant hanging around until 4 minutes passed so I could push the plunger. This machine you push a button and then forget about it, going about other chores. What this means is I get into some other non-coffee making task, almost always miss the beep, and forget that I even made a cup of coffee until hours later.

Yep, total user error. But you know what? My microwave will keep beeping at me until I open the door and take my food out. My digital timer will beep at me until I reset it. It’s not that hard. And in my defense, I haven’t had my coffee yet! How on the ball does anyone expect me to be?

Other cons: No way to know if you’ve got enough beans left in the hopper to make a cup. Spout design makes it hard to pour if you’ve only brewed one cup.

Really though, fix the beep and I’d give this 5 stars.

The cost of this item plus tax and delivery charges makes this a big investment. I am not sure that it is worth the purchase since there are some “less than” satisfied customers. This $160 item costs almost $200. Might be easier to purchase on sale locally, try it out and if I don’t like it, just take it back to the store.

the coffee maker has a grinder that grinds the beans too fast, which results in coffee that has a burnt taste. we now have to grind the beans in a slow speed capresso grinder, then add the ground coffee to the cuisinart. the cuisinart then brews a good cup of coffee and keeps it warm for hours.paid extra for the coffee grinder feature that is not used
